Author Submission Guidelines and Terms

Last Updated: September 27, 2026

Thank you for your interest in publishing with Kaleido Inspire Publishing, LLC (“Kaleido Inspire,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We welcome original children's storybooks, activity books, works in progress, and well-developed concepts for consideration.

Please review these Author Submission Guidelines and Terms carefully before submitting your project. By submitting materials through our Author Submission program and confirming your agreement on the submission form, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms.

1. Who May Submit

Submissions should be made by individuals who are at least 18 years old and who have the legal right and authority to submit the materials for consideration.

If you are submitting on behalf of another person, organization, or rights holder, you represent that you have authorization to do so.

2. Types of Projects We Consider

Kaleido Inspire welcomes original children's:

  • Storybooks
  • Activity books
  • Completed manuscripts
  • Works in progress
  • Well-developed book concepts

Projects should be intended primarily for children and should align with our interest in creating engaging, imaginative, educational, creative, or enriching experiences for young readers.

Submission does not guarantee that a project will be reviewed within a particular period, accepted, or published.

3. Original Work and Your Rights

By submitting materials, you represent that the work is your original creation or that you otherwise have the necessary rights, permissions, licenses, and authority to submit it to Kaleido Inspire for consideration.

You should not submit materials that knowingly infringe another person's copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, intellectual property, or other legal rights.

You retain ownership of the materials you submit. Submission to Kaleido Inspire does not transfer copyright or ownership of your work to us.

Any rights granted to Kaleido Inspire for publication, distribution, adaptation, licensing, or other commercial use would be addressed separately in a written publishing agreement if we decide to move forward with your project.

4. Previously Published or Distributed Work

Please disclose if your project, or a substantial portion of it, has previously been:

  • Traditionally published
  • Self-published
  • Distributed commercially
  • Licensed to another party
  • Posted or made publicly available in substantial form

Previously published work may still be considered. This information helps us evaluate existing rights, obligations, and potential publishing opportunities.

5. Illustrations, Artwork, and Other Materials

Illustrations are not required unless they are important to understanding your particular project.

You may submit illustrations, photographs, activity pages, worksheets, graphics, or other supporting materials with your project.

By submitting these materials, you represent that you created them yourself or have the appropriate rights and permissions to submit them for consideration.

If artwork or other materials were created by another person, you are responsible for obtaining any permissions or rights necessary for their submission and potential use.

6. Artificial Intelligence and AI-Assisted Content

If artificial intelligence tools were materially used to generate or create text, illustrations, artwork, activities, or other substantive portions of your submitted project, you should disclose that information as part of your submission.

Use of AI tools does not automatically disqualify a project from consideration. However, Kaleido Inspire may consider the nature and extent of AI involvement when evaluating originality, ownership, intellectual-property rights, quality, and suitability for publication.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights necessary to submit all materials included in your project, including materials created or modified using AI tools.

7. What You Authorize Us to Do

By submitting your project, you authorize Kaleido Inspire and persons assisting us with legitimate publishing operations to access, store, reproduce internally as reasonably necessary, and review your submitted materials for the purpose of evaluating your project for potential publication and administering the submission process.

This limited authorization does not give Kaleido Inspire ownership of your work or permission to publish or commercially exploit your work.

Any publication or commercial rights would require a separate agreement.

8. Confidentiality of Submissions

We understand that submissions may contain unpublished creative work and will handle submitted materials as part of our publishing-review process.

However, submitting materials does not create a confidential, fiduciary, or nondisclosure relationship between you and Kaleido Inspire.

Please do not submit information that requires us to assume a confidentiality or nondisclosure obligation unless we have separately agreed to that obligation in writing.

9. Similar Ideas and Independent Development

Kaleido Inspire receives, reviews, creates, and may publish children's books and related materials covering a variety of themes, subjects, activities, characters, educational concepts, and creative ideas.

Because of this, materials submitted to us may contain ideas, concepts, themes, subject matter, formats, characters, activities, or other elements that are similar to materials previously or independently created, received, reviewed, developed, acquired, or published by Kaleido Inspire or another creator.

Your submission does not prevent Kaleido Inspire from considering, developing, acquiring, or publishing other works that contain similar general ideas, concepts, themes, subject matter, formats, or elements, provided we do not use your legally protected material without authorization.

10. Evaluation and Editorial Decisions

Kaleido Inspire has sole discretion to determine which projects we wish to consider further.

We may decide that a project is not appropriate for our publishing program for editorial, commercial, production, scheduling, audience, branding, or other business reasons.

Submission does not guarantee:

  • Publication
  • An offer or publishing agreement
  • Editorial feedback
  • Compensation
  • Representation
  • A particular response time
  • An individual response

If we are interested in discussing your project further, we may contact you using the information provided with your submission.

11. No Publishing Relationship Created by Submission

Submitting materials does not create a publisher-author relationship, partnership, joint venture, employment relationship, agency relationship, fiduciary relationship, or other contractual publishing relationship between you and Kaleido Inspire.

No obligation to publish, market, manufacture, distribute, license, or otherwise commercialize a submitted project exists unless Kaleido Inspire and the applicable rights holder enter into a separate written agreement.

12. No Submission Fee

Kaleido Inspire does not charge authors a fee merely to submit a project for publishing consideration through our Author Submission forms.

If we decide to pursue a project, any applicable publishing terms, rights, responsibilities, compensation, royalties, costs, or other arrangements will be addressed separately before publication.

13. Submitted Files and Privacy

Information and files submitted through our Author Submission forms are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Submission materials may be stored using Shopify and other service providers that support our website and business operations.

Please review our Privacy Policy for additional information about how personal information and submission materials are collected, used, stored, and processed.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Author Submission Guidelines and Terms from time to time as our publishing program or business practices evolve.

The version applicable to a submission will generally be the version presented or made available when the submission is made.
